Berne Union is reviving theater with the upcoming production of “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon”, a comedic re-telling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. The cast has been working since early September on the production which will be held November 20 and 21 at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $8.00 or $5.00 for seniors or students.
Mrs. Garber’s class has been studying metamorphic, sedimentary, and igneous rocks as well as properties of rocks and the rock cycle. The children had a great time demonstrating how magma (melted rock) comes up through a volcano as lava to cool and harden as igneous rock. The children also discovered a chemical reaction that fizzed and had an odor from two different chemicals being mixed.

The 2015 High School Yearbooks have arrived! If you wish to pick up a purchased yearbook, call the high school office before noon (740-746-9956), provide a name, and pick it up by the end of the day. If you call later than noon, you will have to pick up the yearbook during the next school day. Yearbooks are available for purchase. The cost of a single yearbook is $50.00. Cash and check are acceptable forms of payment.

This past Saturday, at Lancaster High School, Berne Union’s Band participated in their first competition of the year. Not only did they win their class, but were also one of only two bands to received a Superior rating. Additional accolades included best overall effect, best percussion and best auxiliary. We are extremely proud of our band! All the time and hard work they pay off is evident as soon as you see and hear them in action. Great Job!

Berne Union students grades 7-12 are creating computer portfolios in our brand new computer lab. At the early grade levels, students will find out about career choices, take interest inventories, and do career matchmaking exercising. As they get into higher grade levels, they will match career interests with college choices and even be able to create a college folder to help them organize their search for post-secondary endeavors.
Join us in congratulating our Berne Union’s Volleyball team. As of yesterday, they have been ranked 18th in the state with an overall record of 11-3 and a league record of 5-0. Congratulations, ladies! Come join us at our home league match against Fisher Catholic on Thursday, Sept. 24. This is a big game and we would love to have the gym full of ROCKET FANS!
